The printing press, the spinning wheel, eyeglasses and even sticky buns all have one thing in common: They were among the great innovations that came out of the Middle Ages. While each has evolved, the sticky bun remains nearly unchanged for more than 500 years. Recognizing greatness, the founders of El Chorro, Paradise Valley’s iconic Southwestern-inspired restaurant, began serving the famous oven-baked swirls of dough nearly 80 years ago when they first opened in 1937.
Soaked in a sweet, sultry glaze of butter and smooth brown sugar, these decadent treats are made from scratch by El Chorro’s celebrated team of chefs, who put the same love into every batch and basket year after year. The best part is, El Chorro serves the old-fashioned chewy handfuls before every meal. Whether guests come for the award-winning cuisine, signature cocktails or the acclaimed outdoor dining, these sticky sensations will be hot and ready.
El Chorro offers slightly altered summer hours. Guests are welcome for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday brunch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.elchorro.com or call (480)948-5170.
