I stopped in today to one of our favorite spots at the Scottsdale Quarter, True Foods. The weather was perfect for patio seating, was just missing a glass of wine and good company.

At the recommendation of my server, I tried the Rood & Remedy juice drink, the fresh soup of the day (tortilla soup) and Panang Curry with Shrimp. First delivered to the table was this brilliantly ruby red drink with an orange base at the bottom (loved photographing this one). This Root & Remedy drink was incredible. It was so fresh, and a perfect blend of sweetness and vegetableness (yes, I believe I made that word up). If you’re a juicer, this is a must try!

Next out came our bowl of Tortilla soup which I asked if it was cream based or broth based. I was told that it was broth based but had tortillas in it (hence the name) but they were puréed which made its consistency to be like a cream based soup…she was spot on! Whenever this soup is on the daily menu, make sure you try it! We loved it!

Our main dish was the Panang Curry with Shrimp. I would normally ask to have the broccoli left out (George Bush Sr and I have this in common), but I felt I needed to taste the complete experience. So glad I did, this dish was so beautifully balanced with the coconut shellfish broth, the compilation of vegetables and the delicious brown rice it was a beautiful experience to compliment a beautiful Arizona day.

If you have not tried True Foods, what’s wrong with you? Give it a shot, you’ll love everything on the menu!
