This week we ventured out for the first time to The Parlor in Phoenix (Yes, I said first time…don’t judge.).  This awesome pizza joint has been in Phoenix for 6 years, founded by the owners of Nello’s Pizza (you east valley readers should be very familiar) and has the distinguished honor of The Food Networks “50 States, 50 Pizzas“.  This re-purposed decor which was originally a hair salon, is one of the coolest restaurants we’ve dined in.  From the pizza counter with the original salon chairs, to the wood that was taken from a business that closed across the street, and the shelving made of old pipes, it is such an inviting space to dine and drink in.

The dishes we tried today where even better then the cool interior experience.  This Melianes salad was incredible.  It was delivered sitting on top of a perfectly flatten and breaded chicken paired perfectly with swiss chard, roasted tomato, pears, feta and a smoked mustard vinaigrette.  I will absolutely be coming back for more!  The pizza we ordered had prosciutto and  schreiner’s parlor blend sausage.  This pizza was fantastic and cooked to perfection.  If you’re a pizza “cone-sour” (those are air quotes), you need to try this pizza for yourself!

If you work in Phoenix or live in the corridor, you’ve probably been, but for those of you in other parts of the valley, find a reason to get to 16st and Camelback either for a date night, a great dinner or lunch with friends.
