Tempe Public Café

For a while now, the Phoenix Public Market Café has been a staple of the downtown scene. Whether you want a good cup of coffee, a lunch break on the patio, or Sunday brunch and Bloody Mary, the Café has the fix for your cravings. Toss on top of all this their philosophy of fostering community and sourcing as much as possible from local producers, then wrap it all up in an inviting, casual urban atmosphere and it’s easy to see why this place is a downtown favorite. But why should downtown Phoenix have all the fun? Yesterday, the people behind the Café brought the same philosophy and feel to Tempe with the grand opening of Tempe Public Café.

Nestled on the Northeast corner of Ray & Warner, the Tempe Public Café is a breath of fresh air for the area. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of good restaurants in the vicinity but nothing with the kind of feel the Café brings. The new expansion boasts an open, airy, dining space, full bar, and a spacious patio, complete with a killer fireplace. On the menu, you’ll find an array of fresh options for breakfast, lunch or dinner and with Presta coffee in the pots, local brews on tap, and goods from great local producers like Hayden Flour Mills and Iconic Cocktail, it’s easy to see their philosophy at work.

I can’t say it any better than their website:

We offer fresh market cuisine crafted with seasonal ingredients that we source from local and organic farms whenever possible. We aim to nourish the Tempe community in every way — whether with a wholesome meal in our comfortable dining room, a hot cup of coffee on our spacious patio or a pint of local beer at our bar.

Tempe Public Café is open daily 7 am – 10 pm. Get out there and support local!
