POUR Spotlight – Goldwater Brewing Co.

We’re excited to have Goldwater Brewing Co. joining us at POUR Acoustics & Ales.

At less than three years old as an official brewing company, Goldwater has already become a staple of the Arizona craft beer community. With their steady stream of consistently tasty brews, a great location, complete with roof top patio and speakeasy style basement, and over thirty years of brewing experience, it’s not too difficult to see why they’ve made such an impact.

…three decades of learning and mastering one of the oldest and most revered trades in history. Hopefully that can paint a picture of how far ahead Chad, Dillon, and Jimmy are on the curve, thanks to their dad, father-in-law, and lifelong brewing mentor Greg McClelland.

The long time vision of Greg McClelland, Goldwater is a family business with a passion for good beer. Greg started home brewing more than thirty years ago and his time spent brewing ales and lagers lead to a desire to open a microbrewery. Greg, and his wife Pam, looked at getting a brewery going a couple times over the years but the market just wasn’t right. Then, in 2014, with the support of their now grown children, Chad (the brewmaster) and Dillon (the creative director), along with son-in-law, Jimmy Disken (the jack of all trades), the seeds of Goldwater Brewing Co. began to take root.

In 2015, Goldwater opened their doors, in South Scottsdale. Their location has housed many different businesses since it was built in 1957. It started as a grain and feed store and went on to be home to an auction house, a Corvette repair shop and eventually Mandall’s Shooting Supplies gun store and now that Goldwater has opened their doors, this iconic location is home to quality Arizona craft brews.

As Greg likes to say, “it’s come full circle as this building is back to being a ‘grain and feed’ store,” albeit of a different kind.

Goldwater will be POURing along side Helio Basin and Helton Brewing with live acoustic music by Kim Capria and live painting by Katie Kral.

So come out Thursday the 19th for a fun evening of music, art, and of course delicious beer! Tickets are still available. $30 gets you two 10oz pours from each brewery along with food pairings from Helton Brewing.

See you there!
