Harbottle Brewing Company Grand Opening!

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…Harbottle Brewing Company is finally set to open their doors! It has been a long journey for the crew at Harbottle getting to this point, but they are happy to announce their grand opening on Saturday, February 10th. With Arizona Beer Week just starting, this is a must add to your beer week agenda. It is always an awesome thing to have a new local brewery open up, but to have it open during AZ Beer Week is perfect timing.

Harbottle will be the fifth brewery in Tucson’s south side industrial brewing district—adding to Green Feet, Ten Fifty-Five, Copper Mine, and Nimbus. In addition to be Tucson’s newest brewery, they are one of the first second wave breweries in Tucson. For those who aren’t familiar with the phrase, a second wave brewery is essentially when a brewer comes from another brewery and then starts their own. Harbottle’s staff has worked at several breweries around town and has done countless collaborations with breweries all over Arizona.

The taproom at Harbottle was a pleasant surprise and very refreshing (so were the beers). They put a lot of time and effort into the small details. For example, they want every patron to have top notch customer service from top to bottom, so they put “Have a nice poop” on the bottom of the restroom walls (see picture above). In all seriousness, their beers were tasty and the variety of styles they have available is not normally what you see from a brewery that’s just opening their doors. You can expect to see six beers on tap during their grand opening—Bass Akwards Porter, Nigel Tufnel (an ESB), Harbottle IPA, Kentucky Sunglasses (a slightly sour pre-prohibition California Common), Crossroads (a Belgian dubbel collab with Button Brewhouse), and Easy Going (a Kolsch).

Some things that got me excited about the brewery, other than the great beer, was that the taproom has 2 TVs and is dog friendly. There’s nothing like watching a game with a good beer and man’s best friend. They also have shuffleboard tucked into the corner if you are looking to play a game. They don’t have any plans to offer food, but there is a restaurant next door that will deliver your food to the taproom.

For their grand opening party, they open at 12pm but the festivities will kick off at 5pm. They will have several food trucks on site throughout the night, along with some games and other entertainment. Be sure to follow these guys on Untappd, they are a verified venue and will keep their draft list up to date.
